Song about growing older but still hoping for the last love
Southern California song writer.
Story behind the song
Something someone said to me recently, so I turned the phrase into a song. Dedicated to my Uncle Johnnie who helped me appreciate this style of music.
Lyrics
In Love, One More Time
By Doug Buche, copr 2012
1st Verse:
I wish that I could fall in love,
be madly in love, one more time.
And then, I'd throw caution to the wind.
I'd do it all again. One last time.
Chorus:
I miss that flutter in my heart, when I'm about to start,
to throw all of my chips in.
I would risk the fall, I would bet it all for one more win.
2nd Verse:
I know, that I am growing older,
The weather's turning colder, I can feel the chill.
But there's a spark, I can find it in my heart,
To light a fire in the dark, and it still gives me a thrill.
Chorus:
I miss that flutter in my heart, when I'm about to start,
to throw all of my chips in.
I would risk the fall, I would bet it all for one more win.
Third Verse/Bridge:
I'm like a roulette ball running out of time,
bouncing on a spinning wheel.
Odd-even, black or red, will I lose or win,
when the spin comes to an end.
Final Verse repeats first verse:
I wish that I could fall in love,
be madly in love, one more time.
And then, I'd throw caution to the wind.
I'd do it all again. One last time.
